Bella Nota
by Jacque Bromm
Several lucky Wolf Creek Lodge members enjoyed a lovely, summer evening in the gardens at the Empire Mine State Historic Park on August 21. The event known as “Bella Nota” is a major fundraiser for Hospitality House, the non-profit organization that provides shelter for the homeless in Nevada County. We enjoyed listening to classical music provided by a string quartet, a wonderful, al fresco dinner catered by Jim E’s Club 141, an art auction and most important of all, Bill J’s birthday! In 2010 alone, Hospitality House served 342 individuals, provided 8,679 bed nights/drop-ins, offered over 27,000 meals and served from 25-39 people per night, including men, women and children.
